Been turned down for DLA

This is what I think also , but I think it may not have been the gp that I see that wrote the report but the one I am actually regisitered with.It was the gp I see that advised me to go for DLA
This is the problem with not seeing the doctor which you are registered with. I usually see one particular doctor and he referred me to a specialist but because I am not registered with him, all the reports go to my named doctor. I now make a point of seeing my named doctor if possible because he will be the one who is asked to fill out these kinds of reports. If you do not like your named doctor it may be worth requesting a change.0 -
I'm so sorry it was bad news
You have had some great advice here from people far more knowledgable than I, so I'd just like to wish you luck with getting the decision reconsidered0 -
The last award letter I received (on re-application) stated their reasons how and why they came to their decision - this is the case even if you are awarded DLA.
They will briefly tell you why/why not but a Statement of Reasons breaks it all down further & is usually the first step in appealing.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

This post answers my query.
It is possible that your GP wrote a report that made the DM think you can do things - I'm not saying the GP wrote a bad report but it could differ from what you have put.
I spoke to my now ex-GP about DLA a few years ago. She said that in general, a GP won't know a patients care or mobility needs.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I understand completely and you stew and things play on your mind! To be honest with you I refraind from phoning them as you don't know how helpful the person is who answers the phone to begin with, and you have no record of what they tell you over the phone! I just went ahead and wrote to them requesting a reconsideration. Why don't you begin composing a letter tomorrow?0 -

I have jotted down a few bits now and will begin to draft a letter tomorrow , I just dont seem to be having alot of luck at the moment with the DWP I think they do this to try and get ppl to give up .Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
I know it's hard but don't give up. Yes, jott things down and take your time with the letter, stating each point why you disagree with the decision. However, don't be aggressive if youknow what I mean!;) Explain in detail the difficulties - I wrote almost 3 whole A4 printed pages
Also why not see your GP before you send the letter and if he/she will agree to write a letter supporting you, enclose it.
Good luck, and try and unwind a bit tonight ... take it easy and try not to let it get to you.0 -
My personal opinion is that it is quite a difficult form to fill in correctly, but the child one is much more complex than the adult form IMO - and funnily enough the Prime Minister described the DLA child form as "the most complex, complicated form to fill in" recently when answering questions in public. How easy or difficult you would find it to fill in would depend on your level of comprehension, education and experience, and it would be a sad system indeed if the people who struggled to fill out the forms were adjudged to be undeserving.
I've not seen the child DLA forms, so have no idea how hard they are.
I know some people would perhaps struggle, but surely not everyone.

I don't struggle to fill them out as I love filling out forms.
I do however struggle with the comprehension, i'll read the questions & interpret what I think that they are asking me which isn't always correct.
I'd imagine that it may well be the same for many people. :AI'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.
