if its changed to RTS then its either uncollected or incomplete address/addressee unknown
you wont be able to claim from RM IF you get the item back
does it have a return address on it?

Hi, I know the address was very clear as I am always very careful about that and I used the paypal address. I still don't know if the buyer received a card about attempted delivery or not. I cannot swear that it had a return address on it though. Stupid I know, but I just can't remember if I did it. I sent a few things that same day. If I don't receive the parcel back, is it just my loss then? Or can it be tracked down in the undeliverable parcels depot? Thanks

you need to contact RM CS and give them your reference number
does your item have you details inside?
if it goes to RLB Belfast and is destroyed, you may find RM would refute any claim

Thread-napping as this one seems appropriate and to save opening a new one.

A friend of mine bought some boots, they turned out to be damaged and would cost more to repair than she paid, so she contacted the seller, huffy seller didn't want to take boots back and refund so friend opened SNAD, then sent them back recorded delivery, friend now says that it looks like delivery attempt failed and parcel is awaiting collection. What happens if the seller doesn't collect and the parcel is returned to my friend? Is this a way for sellers to avoid giving refunds?

What exactly does the online message show, does it definitely say the recipient has been carded?

No, it does not mention if they were carded:
Your item with reference **** is being returned to sender.
This is either because the item wasn’t picked up by the recipient, or because we couldn't deliver it. Sorry for any inconvenience. Please allow for at least two days before tracking the return of your item.
  • Has the buyer had anything to say? Sounds like they never wanted the item in the first place and are refusing to collect the item - it gets sent back (providing it has a return address) and they get a refund.
  • And just to add this is why I hate the NPB process. If they don't pay in a certain amount of time they should get an immediate strike and the seller should be released from the sale to re-list. The reason the majority buyers don't pay is generally because they don't want the item after they've bid. Being forced to pay is never a good scenario for the seller (as proven in this thread).

Inc. the bent postie who trousered the item!

I reported a number of parcels as lost, not from eBay but things I had ordered online, never received them and all companies promise they were sent.

I contacted Royal Mail and raised this matter to them, along with how my post is often open or damaged.

I did not get a reply back UNTIL I again contacted them and advised I wanted them to launch an investigation into my local sorting office as I have had issues before, I also advised I would involve the Police if need be and allow them to proceed how they felt fit.

I got a E-mail back from a lady called Jane at Head office, saying 'sorry' but due to the high number of items sent via the network they were unable to comment on single letters/parcels, although if I had 100% evidence to send this in the post to them and they would 'look at it' but at this time there was nothing more they could do, and therefore they would make a 'note' of the problems raised and try to improve in future.

    Is that customer service?

I gave up, but if it happens again, I will be contacting BBC Watchdog to investigate!

    thats because it takes time
eg parcel goes missing thats sent 1st class
    where did it go missing?
the PO,collection,1st mail centre, transport to the next mail centre, new mail centre, transport to the DO,the DO,on delivery or simply the wrong address
RM simply dont have the manpower to investigate them all
and trust me the get many many 'non complaints'
so they need to wait for patterns to form to try and show where the issue is
