    That is the catch.

As with the Samsung Free Flights promotion - you will not. They will go out of their way to ensure that you will not.

They will charge you £78 + taxes (probably two sets of taxes) which will mean you will pay more in total to fly when they say you can fly ... than you would if you flew a low cost carrier on the date and time that you wanted

Sorry to sound pessimistic but I've been bitten twice before by these sorts of offers (the Gallo wine was the other time) and they are really not worth pursuing

Just my opinion of course ....

And if yiou are a single traveller then these are probably GREAT !!

I agree as its probably cheaper to use the airmiles offer for eurostar for 29.00 a person....not sure if the offer is still on though,

i have bought one for my friend too, we are going to travel seperately but on the same train to avoid the clause in the t&c's.
    hoorah

I don't think you can be so sure about that. Remember that they reserve the right to refuse to accommodate your choice of dates, and to call you to offer alternatives. So it is very likely that one of you will get your chosen date and the other one won't. There is no way of finding out how many seats they have on each train/flight, or if they are deliberately limiting them to discourage people taking up the offer. These are the games they play - expect to be disappointed.
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.
  • On the bbc website page it says.........

You will receive confirmation of availability, by phone, within 21 days. Should you wish, you can also book accompanying tickets for a companion at a rate of £78 per flight and £99 on Eurostar

Or why not suggest your friends buy a copy of What to Wear magazine to claim their very own free ticket!

however, as people have already spotted, on the small print terms and conditions, it says....

Only one voucher may be used per customer and per booking. Only one member of any group travelling together may use a free flight/Eurostar voucher

I just called the helpline, where the person agreed it was not consistent, that they are aware of it, they are 'seeking clarification', and she promised to call me back!

Fingers crossed.......... I will post response here when I get it..

Can I ask where people are managing to find the magazine? Ive been in smiths, local newsagents and safeway and no one is admitting to even hearing of it!
    Many thanks!

I bought my copy in tesco on Tuesday (22nd) and the lady refilling the shelves said that its run was over and they were sending it back the next day...so you might be better off looking in smaller newsagents who may not have sent it back

Hi. Is it the Spring edition of What to Wear? I seem to be missing something... I've searched through it and can't find the offer. Which page is it on please?

  • Is it this Paris that you spend a lot of time with (have you got the video)

Well I did download the video but I can't get it to play on my pc. Some sort of licensing thing with Windows Media Player!

You do need to have travel insurance with this offer.
    It is available from £4.95.
I phoned them and they confirmed it but you don't
have to purchase it from them.
    regards

What sort of "travel" insurance? Would an E111 and contents of house policy be enough?

Its not advertised in the actual magazine, you need to send your till receipt and the contents page to the address given on the first page of this thread.

After visiting loads of shops finally found Spring 2005 What to Wear at Sainsburys......cannot see anything in the mag about the offer, so I am going to follow the instructions in the first thread and keep my fingers crossed. If I get a ticket all well and good, if not, good fun in trying.
