Sick of waiting for mortgage offer!!

Just wanted to vent some frustration really! We are getting a mortgage with the Standard Life and they are taking ages to send us our mortgage offer!! The survey has been carried out and everything is fine, and they have all our ID - or should have at least. Have tried ringing our broker to find out what is happening and can never get through to him!! Am just frustrated because other than the offer we are all ready to go!

Anyone else had any experience with the Standard Life?

I can understand your frustration, but sometimes delays are caused by such things as employers not supplying references quickly enough.

Housebuying is stressful enough, so try to chill a little bit this early in the process. There will be other times when you feel really wound up, believe me.

Hope you get the offer soon anyway.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

We are using C&G, and we instructed and signed last Saturday, and the survey is arranged for this Friday. We still havent had our offer back and of course wont do until the survey is done, but she said about 10-14 days.
  • we are also waiting for our mortgage offer (MORTGAGE BROKERS ARE C&G) and LENDER is platform , currently being underwritten... (waiting for tenancy ref to come through)..good luck everyone :)

My goodness, I totally understand how you are feeling, I have just been through this process with the very same company - you really have to keep on at them all the time. We had no choice but to go with them as we are already with them and wanted buy a more expensive property, but we had an early redemption clause where we would have had to pay them just over £2,500 to pay up and go with another provider, so instead we had to bite the bullet and borrow extra from them.

If you are stuck with them, then keep ringing, its the only way to get things done. We had the same problem with them when we borrowed the original amount, to the extent that they paid us compensation in the end.

We are existing customers and it has taken 6 weeks to get an offer - and thats with us bugging them every few days for the last three weeks.

IM confused....i thought C&G lent the money? So if we went to C&G to arrange it, who lends us the money then...sumone said above "Platform"? She never mentioned any thing like this to us.
Another thing, why have they got to write to our employers if we gave them payslips as required? All im thinking of is how slow this makes the process then

If you were lending someone a six figure sum, wouldn't you take lots of care over it?

I would imagine C&G are both a lender themselves and a broker, perhaps?

We are having the same problem.... with nationwide. Our advisor went on holiday the day before we needed her, so had to go through it all again with someone else, who went on holiday for 2 weeks in the middle of us sending stuff in and they arranged our solicitors so we had the EA on at us for details we didnt have. The vaulation was done just over 2 weeks ago, and we were told we would receive the offer within 10 days.... Oh its so much fun... and the vendors are moving into an empty property and want to get it all sorted ASAP... aiming for mid Nov..... tho Im not holding my breath!!!

Hope we all get our offers in the post today!!

    Can dream anyway!!
