Halfords is very expensive for pretty much everything, I'd avoid them at all costs! I use cheapo Wilkinson blades. These are £1.99 each. They used to use really low quality rubber and this was evident from the word GO, what with constant juddering and squealing! They appear to have changed this now and they seem okay, although they probably won't outlive Halfords' £15 each ones...

Agreed - the Bosch wipers that are £15+ each there can be had for less than half that from a motor factor.

Not as bad as a Renault dealer I called though......... £26 each!
  • I just ordered mine from ebay.It was £12 delivered for a pair of Bosch sp's.Its an older car though, the new curved blades are a lot more.

Just got myself some of them, hopefully they will last a while but at a £5 a shot willing to take a chance on them.

Only annoying thing about Valeo ones is the indicator which wear off over time shows long before the blade has reached the end of its useful life.

That indicator is just a sticker. It peels off easily enough with the correct use of a fingernail.

Personally I love the Valeo flat wipers and will be getting another set when the current ones finally wear out. I'd never go back to the normal type.

That said, avoid any flat wipers that do not naturally sit curved in their box as they wont make good contact with the screen except for in the middle.

Tesco have a lot of blades reduced to £1.50 and 75p plus quality ones with wind deflectors reduced to £3.50. Bought some yesterday, look in the reduced items shelf. Think they are clearing space for Christmas stock.
