wiper blades - best places to buy?
hello everyone just hoping you could help me.
I'm going to be needing new blades for my Renault Clio MK2 (52 plate) and I'm just wondering where is the best place to purchase these?
In the past I'd use halfords because I'd have waited until I really needed them, but for once I'd like to get them earlier.
I'm not looking for the cheapest of cheap blades either as they can be a false economy - bosch in my experience are good, but what other makes are as good if not better?
any help I'd be grateful
cheers

Halfords is expensive without a trade card.
One place is www.eurocarparts.com
Other brands to consider in order of preference. Valeo, Champion. Only annoying thing about Valeo ones is the indicator which wear off over time shows long before the blade has reached the end of its useful life. There are some more expensive ones made of more exotic things which have all sorts of claims about what they do.
Remember cleaning blades that smear with newspaper and vinegar can revive them and get you a bit longer out of them.

Kehren ones from Eurocarparts I've just put on one of mine so far so good... Couple of Quid each for 19"... Although a day or 2 later ECPS trade flyer arrived with an order and they were listed at from 80pence each so may be cheaper now...0

Bosch all the way unless you want screeching blades.0

I tend to buy all mine off eBay. As yet to have a problem with crap blades. The worse ones I had were Halfords ones bought in an emergency when the OEM ones broke suddenly- rubbish.0

Valeo or Bosch for me, available from my local motor factor.
Tried Tesco ones once. They lasted 6 months before the metal parts were covered in surface rust and the rubber blades were falling apart. Lesson learned...0 -

Agreed. But also remember Martin's Money Mantra, "Have I looked for it cheaper anywhere else".
Wiperblades give you all the details of the blades you require, including the manufacturer's model number, so try feeding this into eBay.
I wanted a set of Bosch Aerotwins for my new Fiesta. Wiperblades were £26.75 + £2.45 P&P. Buy they also gave the part number, AR552S. A quick search on eBay then found exactly the same set of blades via the Channel Islands, for just £17.95 (under the £18.00 import tax limit) + £2.95 P&P.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Bosch only for me,.
Had mine so far for 3 years on my car and have passed my MOT and still going as new, without replacing them.
Admit-tingly they were a little more but well worth it.0 -
Not impressed with the Bosch blades on my car at the moment. Not tried vinegar etc on them yet though, but they smear badly after only 4k miles.0
