Fire alternatives?

We've just moved into a house which has a wall mounted flueless gas fire, its only 2Kw and because of the way the heat escapes, out of the top, it follows the wall upwards, then moves across the ceiling then goes up into the landing space and then you feel the warmth once its filled up enough to reach us back downstairs.

Although its a surface mounted flueless gas fire at the moment there is a flue behind it (its mounted on an external wall) which goes straight back, i believe its a balanced flue as theres no power going to it on the outside of the wall.

Im after a replacement which is going to offer more power and ventilate differently so we feel it sooner, dont mind if its wall mounted or one that needs a fireplace around it.

Does anybody have any suggestions?
