Hi
I've just been informed (literally midnight, 7 mins ago!) that my Norton 360 has expired and have been prompted to renew it.
Last renewal a year ago cost around £45 and now it looks more like £60.
Are there any better/cheaper/even FREE internet security/Anti Virus programs you can recommend that would be as good/better than Norton. Btw I do know that many people are severe Norton-bashers, and I concur they are crap as they !!!!!!ed up my PC earlier this year! Lol.
Thanks very much

I currently use norton IS and I wouldnt buy it again, if you want to pay for antivirus then the only one I would recommend is kaspersky (also free if you back online with barclays), and for free I would say use microsoft security essentials (some would also say avira or avast)
since your antivirus has run out use the norton remover tool and install the microsoft one that will give you more than enough protection along with windows firewall.0 -
Thanks jayme1 for your reply.
One more query, I do have a current account with Barclays, so should qualify for free Kapersky! If I was to use this, would I need to use the installing tool?
Thanks once again, I am really grateful for your help as am a bit of a PC tard!

Check here, I just asked on this thread tonight! Norton 360 1 year for £1!!Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
you mean the removal tool? yes because that removal tool is to fully remove norton from the system, which you need to do before you install another antivirus.
the barclays offer should give you an exe file which you install and then type in the product key (which is given to you) when it asks you to. you get the file from the actual kaspersky site0 -
Thanks Claire! However, I think I'll probs go with Kapersky though, as I've had issues with Norton in the past and I'll also save £1!0
