For you information it was a toy worth about £40.

From the comments it sounds like i am fine to send it off so long as i have proof of postage. I just thought he might pull the payment back somehow while in the post.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

If it is worth £40 then proof of postage will neither cover you against a paypal chargeback for non delivery nor will it insure you if Royal mail, or the carrier in the country of receipt lose the item.
You will need a better overseas postal method so check the Royal Mail site:

    http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/jump2?catId=400023&mediaId=400033

    also check what paypal say:

    https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_help-ext&ui_mode=answer&prior_transaction_id=0&action_code=4&answer_id=6894796&leafid=95937&_PPP=511&_PPC=4&_FI=Tracking_Deliveries

At the very least protect yourself against loss in transit.

  • I too want to send a small packet to the US, howver I can't get the Paypal invoice to alter to show the new amount. Any hints please? I am a new Ebay seller and have been advised to use this forum

And what exactly have you contributed to the post?
I think I was defending someone who made a perfectly valid and helpful post against an unfair criticism from someone who really doesn't seem to understand ebay very well.

I'm sure if there is anything wrong with my posts (apart from the fact that you are not comfortable with them) a moderator will let me know in due course.
The seller has every reason to be suspicious. I no longer accept paypal on many items as paypal is too risky. And whats more risky than selling to someone with no feedback!
You still don't get it, do you?

The ebay environment is known and documented.

If you are not comfortable with that environment, you use the tools available (e.g. limitations on buyers), or Do Not Start An Auction.

You do not (as you have done and brazenly admitted on this very forum) run the auction and then decide not to sell. Unless, of course, you are a dishonourable idiot.
