A quick question about O2 billing system

Hi all
Very sorry if this is a silly question, I'm just trying to understand it myself. My other half has an old O2 account which shows an amount next to 'other charges and credits'. This amount is -£139 (minus £139). Looking at some of my old O2 bills on my own accounts, a minus figure to me seems to indicate an amount that had been credited back. Am I going insane, or is that actually correct?
Many thanks
Michael.

Well the issue is, a debt collection agency has started to hassle my other half saying they owe O2 £179. The account numbers match, yet the O2 website states this £139 credit and a balance of £0 to pay.0 -

Show them the online account. If that fails, get in touch with O2 and find out exactly what has happened. Could it be a different O2 account that the debt collecting agency is chasing?0 -
It's definitely the same account as the account numbers match.0
