Help cmos battery low!

    You may need to set the date and time but don't worry about the rest unless there's an issue. If you keep the machine plugged in and turned on at the wall socket while you do it, it'll retain the settings.

    As yopu stated in your original post that all "all my settings were up the wall", then you won't need to worry about the time the battery is out because your bios has already gone back to default settings due to the battery failing altogether.

    As for leaving it plugged in while you do it - never a good idea.

    Unplug it to save the risk of getting an electric shock or even worse a static shock to the motherboard will render it useless.

    Just change the bat over and you wont have to worry about the bios settings. Maybe just the time and date as said already

    If in doubt set to default .
