Most likely used a few profanity's.
  • It's always upsetting when these sort of things happen especially as unexpected and a personal attack. Just don't go back and spread the word to others to avoid the place.

I probably would've dropped a non glass item on the floor called her something and walked out, but then, i'm childish like that.

To be honest...I'd just walk away!
  • I would, as I have in the past said your customer service skills are very poor, and your age old/young which ever is no excuse for poor manners,

I sometimes wonder whether people who own niche shops like these got into it because they like the product, not because they like working with people. In my town we have an independent book shop, a fabric shop, a watchmaker and a cake maker. The people who own/run these shops are just so rude. When you go into their shops they act like you are disturbing them. Yet, the they are all renowned in their field (e.g. the fabric shop owner is high up in the regional quilter's guild). I wonder whether they decided to open a shop as they felt it meant they could basically do their hobby full time, but they don't actually have any interest in the retail/customer service side of things.

Speaking as a small business owner you are probably correct with your view . I think they just get very angry over a period of time.
  • Saying all that I remember seeing a funny thing happen on the outskirts of the lake district and a little old lady asked in a small private petrol station could she please use the toilet the lady bellowed " it is not available to the public only staff" she said well I've just bought petrol off you " staff only" was the reply, to which the little old lady screamed back well dear I hope when you grow old you !!!! yourself on a daily basis and walked off.
  • Was this the lady in question?

OMG!!! now I know who she thinks she is!! It isn't even a proper shop just a lock up and most of the stock is in blue plastic crates. But she does dress in long skirts, shawls and fingerless gloves!!

I have thought of loads of things I should have said over the past 24 hrs but to be honest I would probably have just burst into tears!! :rotfl:
    Slightly bitter
