Hi. I think that Parkin/Gingerbread might be appropriate!! Think toffee apples are bonfire night... its so hard to tell nowadays as the supermarkets market them for halloween, then change the packaging/advertising to market Bonfire Night

If its cakes to eat then and there, something stodgy and filling on a cold night.
Hope that helps slightly?0 -
Cupcakes with indoor sparklers in!
As a new user I'm not allowed to post a pic, but Google images for cupcake sparkler.

Parkin, gingerbread, sticky toffee pudding, choc/toffee apples, treacle toffee, cinder toffee. We always had parkin and treacle toffee (yuck!) on bonfire night

thanks for your sugesstions, theres not actually a bonfire, just a cake stall and raffle after nursery for a bit of fun for the kids.
anyone know of a good toffee recipee?
i was thinking of doing some cakes that look like mini bonfires. a thin biscuit like milkado covered in melted chocolate and stood up like a bonfire with maybe sprinkles on?
what about popping candy in or on cakes?

How about something like this http://ie.starbucks.com/NR/rdonlyres/016C083D-FDB9-447D-918B-0947C564126C/9146/MarshmallowTwizzleColouredSugar1_250x251.jpg?
They would be quite easy to make and seem quite bonfire night-esque to me.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

How about Pumpkin Cake? It's a bit like carrot cake but a good way to use up the pumpkin left over from carving them out the previous week.
I have used this recipe but instead of putting the frosting on the top I cut the cake into small squares then cut through the middle and sandwiched it together.
