or8it,
I have removed the post. I was unsure if the information was taken direct from the MOD intranet, or from the internet.
Can you please repost, and insert a link to the internet, and not post information directly from the internal intranet.
At the minute MSE is IGS/EGS friendly, though this can easily be removed.
Regards,

Alias,
I took it direct from the email sent to me from our admin cell. I queried if the Galaxy Brief was classified and was told it wasn't and that they had been told to disseminate to everybody.
The popular Rum Ration forum also has this info.

And here is another link on the Naval Families Federation website.

I really would be most interested in the reasoning why MSE would be blocked from IGS/EGS for posting unclassified information. The RN in my eyes are being very open in keeping us informed on redundancy news and this forum is a good way of passing on such news.

good info i'm just hoping it will be across the 3 services and that i will be eligble!!0 -
The latest news before leave was that this is across all three Services but with slightly different timing - about a month between each. They will ask for volunteers, but when the volunteers' profiles don't match exactly what they want, there will be compulsory redundancies (with 12 months' notice to leave). Profiles aren't worked out yet, but will be by Service, branch/specialization, rank, length of service etc, and no compulsory redundancies for those in Afghan.
Watching and waiting.Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -
So then does anyone have any inside info into exactly what "Profiles" they want (esp Army ranks)??0

OK, here's another link to the Government website laying down the legislation for the Armed Forces Redundancy Scheme 2010.
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2010/832/contents/made
Remember this is for personnel who are on the old AFPS75.
It is quite heavy going but hopefully it will be translated into more understandable text when JSP 764 is updated (when this will happen I do not know).0 -
Finally JSP 764 has been updated to reflect those made redundant after 6 April 2010. A link to the relevant JSP and part may be found here:
JSP 764 Part 5
It looks like they have gone back on their initial plan to change the rules on 1st April 2013 and the rules now change (obviously for the worst) on 1st January 2016.
All I know is I'll be long gone before then!
I'd also like to point out to any moderators that this is an UNCLASSIFIED link to the mod INTERNET site.0 -
Thanks Or8it..0

The official Armed Forces Redundancy Calculator has now gone live and may be found at the link below.

ABN 15/11 gives a bit more detail - 4 Apr 11 is when it will to get interesting for people. Compulsory discharges are coming
6. Redundancy Fields. The fields from which personnel will be selected for redundancy will be published in the Army Compulsory Redundancy DIN on 4 Apr 11 (see timetable above).
Exclusions from all 4 Tranches. On current planning, the following exclusions will apply to all four tranches of the Army Compulsory Redundancy Programme:
a. All Soldiers enlisted on Versatile Engagement Short Career (VENG SC).
b. All Direct Entry Officers holding a Short Service Commission.
c. All 2nd Lieutenants and Lieutenants.
d. Intelligence Corps Officers from 2nd Lieutenant to Lieutenant Colonel.
e. Army Air Corps Direct Entry Captains and Majors.
As at 4 Apr 11, it is anticipated that these exclusions will mean that up to 15,000 soldiers and 3,150 Officers will not be considered at any point in the Programme.
