I have never been to Bristol before and would like some help if possible
I have got a tickets to see a TV show in Bristol in November:j
We have got to travel to Bristol by National Express Coach (7hrs)got 25% off coach fare
Train price is very expensive
First question is the coach station in the centre of Bristol?
Second question does anyone know of a nice B&B in the centre of Bristol as all the Hotels I have checked on line are very pricey
Third question are all areas of the city centre safe to walk at night
Any good offer on meals in Bristol would be welcome
thankyou

The Travelodge is nicely placed, and very cheap if you can get the right deal.
The SS Great Britain is fabulous, but pricey. The media/science museum by the docks has half price admission after...um...4.30 or 5.import this0 -
What tv show are you coming to watch and where is it? BBC, ITV, Hippodrome etc. It is going to help to have this information as they are in different areas of town.
Yes, the bus station is in the centre of town but we are going to need the above information in order to point you in the direction with regard to where to stay0 -
The coach station is very central. As dangers said, we need more information about where the show is to advise on B&Bs. HTV and BBC are miles away from each other, although both easy enough to get to from the centre of town. Unfortunately there are no B&Bs in the centre that I know of.0

There is a Premier Inn right by the coach station if thats any help.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

OK - that's a little way away from the city centre. As its own website states, it is a 12 minute walk from Temple Meads; you are going to need a bus/taxi from the bus station. For b&b's you need to be looking around Totterdown/Brislington. There are a few hotels around TM that I can think of; it's not really my part of town.0

I live in Brislington, this place is a short walk from the deal or no deal studio, but its a hotel not b&b http://www.arnosmanorhotel.co.uk/
Bocabar is right next door to the studio and a great place to eat or have a drink (no deals though) or you could go back into town to Cabot Circus where there is a Cafe Rouge, Nandos, Bella Pizza, La Tasca, Yo Sushi, Giraffe, Gourmet Burger kitchen etc. (Use tesco vouchers for some of them)
I cant think of anywhere else close by to stay, there is a Holiday Inn Express by Temple Meads train station which is on the way back into town.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -
Thanks for providing that information Tiff; I'm right on the other side of town. To help the OP, are there any eateries in St Phillips Marsh - TGI Fridays?0
-
No, TGI's closed down years ago. There is only Pizza Hut, BK, McD, Chiquito's.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

from the bus station you can get the bus that goes to keynsham and bath that goes right past paintworks on the bath rd and there is a stop literally 30 seconds away i live about 5 mins from there in totterdown and run past the paintworks every day there is also a number 1 bus that goes from the city center past there as well
Im not sure what you want to pay for lodgings but there are several B & B on the bath rd itself which are close to the paintworks
one that i always see when i go past is called the A4 hotel which is a few min walk from the paintworks - they charge around 45 pounds but i think the premire inn in the city center are doing deals for 29 at the moment if it a sunday arrival then they are 29 pounds

if not then you would be looking for hotel on the bath rd but you want the city center end of it and there are several guest house at this end of the bath rd
http://www.british-towns.net/hotels/hotel_selected.asp?GetHID=15670 This is for the a4 hotel on the bath rd

the arnos manor hotel is more expensive but also a two min walk to the paintworks
however if your based up this end there is not much to do in the way of going out /nightlife resturants for this you would be better of placed in the city center maybe near the waterfront or near cabot circus
the future inns hotel is generally around 50 60 for the night and its right in the city center opposite the shopping center and you can get buses to the bath rd near by
or you have the holiday inn express which is opposite the train station and you could walk from there to the paintworks its one straight rd
Ibis at temple meads is normally around 60 and its central to most things
however if you want really cheap then try the backpackers ( full moon they do twin rooms and its seconds from the bus station and cheap) and the youth hostels (they arent that bad and one is right on the waterfront near the bars and resturants )
you could also try the clifton area of bristol which is where the suspension bridge the zoo and the Downs are
there are lots of B & B in this area
Its the other side of town to the paintworks but again you can get a bus from whiteladies rd clifton that goes along the bath rd and stops seconds away from the paintworks and you might find clifton better to be in as there are lots of resturants bars ect and stuff to do there and its quite touristy
the number 1 bus goes from whiteladies rd to bath rd0
