Click on Start button, then All Programs , follow by Recovery Manager or System Recovery . Then run Recovery Manager or PC Recovery.

Alternatively, if you’re using Vista, type “Recovery” in the search field, and click on Recovery Manager when it appears in the searched program list to open the Recovery Manager window.

For “PC Recovery”, select the option to perform the PC Recovery when the recovery options are presented, and click Next. Wait for computer to restart.

for the mini 110 as the computer is starting up press F6 untill it loads the recovery options, then select the 'factory restore' option, wait untill it is done, and bingo you have a computer just as if you bought it new. you will loose all your data on the laptop though so copy important files off it.
  • Oh God, it's all starting to sound a bit technical for me!
I'm still at work at the moment but will try what you have suggested when I get home tomorrow and will try and get back to you all asap!

Thanks so very much for your help x
I’m selfish, impatient & a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control & at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best. :)Marilyn Monroe

I hope when the "techguys" "repaired it" and told you you need the recovery cds that they didn't format the whole disc deleting the recovery partition.

There might be a simple solution though and thats visit compaqs website and download the drivers for the wireless/wired network card from there. They should have done that for you. I'd write in and complain since they didn't do their job they seem to have "fixed" your computer providing you with a new problem. If you find out they deleted the recovery partition I'd be demanding the money back for the repair and be telling them to pay for the recovery cds!
