A few small spends to report from yesterday:
75p on a book reservation at the library for DH
£3.61 on frozen fish for DS and diet coke for DH at Mr T
£3.50 on stamps and postage for 2 cards being sent abroad
£3.05 on 2 birthday cards
£12 on lunch in our favourite cafe
The cafe gave us 4 free large mince pies to take away which we wil have warm for tea with rum sauce leftover from Christmas.
My tax rebate may not be in the savings pot for long:( We really need a new bed and have been planning to get one this year as we are using the 4ft one we took out of DS room when it was turned into his nursery and it is a little small for the both of us. Our friend is moving abroad and is selling a newish king size bed so we are off to have a look at it this afternoon. If we get it I may try and ebay our bed base, the matress is past it.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Well the chap with the bed didn't reply until later to DH message and was out tonight so looks like we won't bothering to go have a look at it. There is no way we can get there on an evening with DS in tow. Although it was a bargain and we do need a new bed I did begrudge spending my windfall within 48 hours of receiving it it!
Small spend today (£9.75) on a short train ride and on the oldest railway in Britain which DS absoloutely loved, so did DH for that matter:rotfl:
I am intending to not spend any money this week except 60p/day on the Sun as I am saving the holiday vouchers, postage for a birthday card as I didn't realise it would need a large letter stamp and maybe a cup of tea at college on Tuesday night, let's say £5 for the week. Can I do it?Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Thanks for the support F_F!
Nothing spent today, too busy at work to eat or spend. Forgot to buy the blooming paper as well and they even sell it at the coffee bar in work:mad:
We did have a chinese tonight (food buget not spends) as I was so tired I couldn't be bothered to talk DH out of it:o I did not enjoy it as usual and have decided that if he wants one next time he can get one and I will have something from home.
Off to bed to dream up ways to earn a few pennies to add to the coffers;)Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

£1.00 spent on postage, well asked DMIL to post a card for me and didn't get any change:rotfl:
30p on the Sun yesterday and 30p today for the vouchers for the cheapie hols. We are not really into the whole entertainment complex side of things but will use the accommodation as a base and do our own exploring:) I thought the paper was 60p/day but that was Saturday's so half the cost budgeted for.
Didn't have a break at college as we worked through and finished early so saved money not having the opportunity to buy a cup of tea.
Total spent out of £5: £1.60
A £2 coin and some bits and bobs in pots both real and virtual.
DH has found a table top sale we are going to try and book a spot at just around the corner from us. We have lots of paperbacks, household items, childrens toys, clothes, books and baby stuff to get rid of. DH is going to get some cardboard boxes from work and we are going to start putting stuff together this weekend.
Worn out tonight. 3 days into 5 weeks of back to back teaching 9 hour days with about 15 mins break a day. Probably fall asleep mid lesson at this rate:eek:
P.S. I don't teach kids just in case you thought social services needed to be called:rotfl:
I was supposed to be going out with the girls Friday but since I still have a cough and a bad chest I am not going to bother. That will save me a few £s.
My CB gets paid on Monday which I have counted in Dec/Jan's budget and then Jan/Feb's budget starts on the 20th so I might be able to slide about £50 of it into the savings come payday.
If I can do this I have saved about £500 this month including what I have put in the sealed pots.
Eeek! I have just realised I haven't put £1/day in my pot this week and owe it £3 :eek:Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Spends today 54p for tea and 30p for a paper. Only need 6 more tokens:)
Put £3 in the £1/day pot last night to bring me up to date and will put a £1 in again when I go to bed, which won't be long, I'm shattered again and my cough has reappeared. Not helped by reading in the paper about whooping cough been on the rise amongst adults:eek:
DH made a booby and the table top sale isn't until March so more time to sort stuff out but more time to wait until the funds hit the savings.:(
I need to work on how I can up the savings in Feb as we are going to have quite a tight month. I have done the budget and we can manage quite well if we stick to the allocated amounts.
I think I am going to stick them on the fridge or our wardrobe door (away from PIL eyes) and keep them updated so DH can see where we are against the budget as he thinks it is a bottomless pit and the sulks a bit and makes me feel mean if there is no money left to do/buy something. It's not that he takes money out of our joint account and spends it willie nillie, well about £35 this month but he did get £1000 bonus.;)Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Spends today £54p tea, 30p paper, 85p lunch, £2.50 car parking at A&E when DS had a fall and split his ear at Nursery:eek:
At least the boss agreed to pay me for the special leave.:)
Too much spent at Mr M today and I still need to do a small shop at Aldi tomorrow for fruit and dog food.
Pots topped up, account sweep done and not muuch else to report today.

Not posted on here for nearly a week:o
I get paid tomorrow so today is the last day of the first month on my saving to pay off the 2nd mortgage challenge. £229 saved into the pot. DH is amazed at how much I have managed to save this month what with it being Christmas and a long month for us and wth us been a bit pants at saving, a lot pants really. The total would have been higher but I have used some of the tax rebate to put a deposit down on a new bed frame and mattress and start a stockpiling fund.
If my plans come to fruition we will have enough to pay for the bed (£675) and £650 in cash savings by the end of March. I am not counting what I put in my sealed tins as this is to be a suprise in December.
DH thought our car tax was due this month but as it is the end of the month it will come out of next month's pay thank goodness as this month is as tight as a tight thing.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
