Stage Pension age

Increased to 66 in 2020, better than expected.

    Better for men, worse for women as its both sexes moving to 66 4 years early. Still 67 for me though.

    Didn't he say something about increase starting in 2018 and increasing gradually to 66 in 2020?

    Yes, no detail though, maybe the 2018 relates to bringing forward the female retirement age more quickly, say to 65 in 2018, I can't see them changing the age by months.

    Totally Confused now - I was born 10th May 1952
    Will I retire at 65 or not?

    I take it I will so many backwards and forwards movements.

    I'll will be 65 on 10th May 2017

    When I looked before it was 66 have things changed, I hope so!!

    Seems to be an improvement in the uprating
    uprate the basic State Pension by a triple guarantee of earnings, prices or 2.5 per cent,
    whichever is highest, from 2011, while bringing forward the date at which the State Pension
    Age will start to rise to 66 to 2018 in order to ensure this is fiscally sustainable; and
