sky to another room

this is really baffling me.!
Have run a cable to another room/tv. when I connect aerial at the sky end, no problem, but when I connect to the other tv (other room),, the satellite signal freezes at the sky end (havent retuned the 2nd tv (other room), yet.
is there a problem with the length of the cable (30 feet), or 'resistance' ?
dont want to get another box, just want to watch same channel, in a different room.
I have used the old fashioned co axial connectors (with adaptors), but the modern sky cable
any ideas please
thanks

forgot to add... sky is just the basic option, not HD/on demand, etc0
-
Just get a wireless AV sender/receiver, sorted. Work a treat with Sky and VM0
-
^ Dont waste your money on senders if you have cabled allready.
So.
You have the one sky feed in connected to the only screw connector.
Is the second room feed plugged into RF2?

strange thing is, with the splitter in/connected, I only get SOME sky channels, and on others, a message "no satellite channel is being received". Surely, either I AM receiving a signal, or I an not ? Can't be both ! (Eg, I have BBC1 as 101, BBC2 as 102, etc). I get 1/101, but a message "no.....rec'd", on 2/101.
Just doesnt make sense.
I see the RF2 output now. Have taken out the splitter so there is only the direct input to the sky box. Have linked the tv in the other room to the RF2 output and am now trying to find the signal/picture, on the tv in the other room. No luck yet !
Still can't see/reason, why the 'some channels'/above, is the case, nor why the picture freezes, when 'other room' aerial is inserted.0 -
success !
now got successful sky on tv in other room
thanks folks (though it was all trial and error here !)0 -

OK basicly:
Your dish lnb switches between 4 modes and each channel can only be received by one of these modes.
Connecting the 2nd room stops the stb from switching the lnb as needed by the channel selected, hence you only get the channels available from the mode that it was last in.0 -
the freezing occured when I tried to split the signal before, it reached the sky box.
connecting to the RF outlet on the sky box (ie from RF to tv in other room), has worked with no problems

I know, the STB sends a switching signal back up the cable to the LNB, you blocked its path.0
