the budget sounds like a good plan, I was going to suggest that too
when I was studying it hung over me all the time (I should be reading this or that, or writing this essay or doing that assignment) until I worked out what I needed to do each day, then once I had done that, I was free to do whatever else I wanted to do
have used a similar approach to budgets and all I can say is that it worked for me, it made me feel safe because I knew I was on target and not over spending
maybe some kind of target might help. Maybe you are feeling insecure because you know you want to save, but not how much. How will you know you have arrived if you haven't decided where you are going kind of thing. So a plan might help the situation, so long as you both agree it of course0 -

You should set aside some money every month just for frivilous purchases OR keep a little money aside and surprise your wife with a nice (cheap) weekend away some where or a meal out (with vouchers). As other people the value is in the investment in your wife's happiness. You'd be amazed how far a small gesture can go. If your wife can see some benefit from your saving she'll probably be more amenable to spending less on groceries and alike.0

I think you need to explain to her how you feel about money and she needs to do likewise, maybe when you both understand each other's needs better, agreeing a plan of action will be relatively straightforward. You may well agree on pocket money for her and yourself and a joint budget to blow each month - on joint agreement. That way you both have your own money (no questions asked) and a joint fund that you both have to agree to spend, anything that isn't spent either goes into a joint savings account or divided equally each month.
On a separate note, start doing some nice things for her - little treats to make her feel good, surprise lunches, gifts, flowers whatever, sounds silly but you know what women are like. That last comment is bound to get me in trouble!:rotfl:MFi3T2 #98 - Mortgage Free 15/12/20110 -

is there no way you can change your savings allowance just alittle if you have so much saved away? just changing it slightly by a few % would mean she can have a little spending spree and youd still be saving a hefty chunk of your salary.back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0

Solution is simple, gentlemen:
BOYCOTT AMERICAN WOMEN
Why American men should boycott American women
boycottamericanwomen.blogspot.com
I am an American man, and I have decided to boycott American women. In a nutshell, American women are the most likely to cheat on you, to divorce you, to get fat, to steal half of your money in the divorce courts, don't know how to cook or clean, don't want to have children, etc. Therefore, what intelligent man would want to get involved with American women?
American women are generally immature, selfish, extremely arrogant and self-centered, mentally unstable, irresponsible, and highly unchaste. The behavior of most American women is utterly disgusting, to say the least.
This blog is my attempt to explain why I feel American women are inferior to foreign women (non-American women), and why American men should boycott American women, and date/marry only foreign (non-American) women.
