just wanted to ask if anyone has used or knows of lace wigs. I am thinking of buying one (synthetic - i always wear synthetic in braids extensions the lot and can make it look real - dont like the idea of real hair on my head)
well i am rambling does anyone know much - need a wee break from braiding.
I would also like to mention to the afro haired ladies found a new website called your hair and beauty its great, it uses paypal but i phoned an order in for some supplies and they came the next day (i sound like a troll) but it was really good and really cheap so i hope it helps someone!0 -
i have no real great advice to give, but i saw 'good hair' recently, by chris rock, which was eye-openning! if anyone's thinking of getting their hair relaxed, it's certainly worth a look.....! (i was sceptical that a comic would make a documentary worth seeing, but it's entertaining and makes a real point):happyhear0

Hi, just wondered about peoples experiences with co-washing really.
I'm mixed race with quiet curly hair, and have decided to try co-washing after researching on net.
Tried it yesterday, my hair looks much curlier but is still feels quite dry.
Does it take a few washes to look it's best?Saving all my pennies0 -
Have you start edwith a clarifying shampoo to get rid of product etc?
Do that first (i could be wrong but this works) then deep condition.
The next time you wash will be co-washing and you just wet your hair and massage your scalp with conditioner, this will remove any dirt etc and leave your hair soft and gorgeous. It doesnt have to be an expensive conditioner, the cheap conditioners in big bottles from tesco's and asda are great for this you get a great massage.
Then keep co-washing and once a month to 6 weeks clarify. This works for me and I am mixed race as well.0 -
Thanks!
I did start with a clarifying shampoo - kercare 1st lather.
I will keep up with this method then, my hair is in a state after years of abuse so it will take ages to improve.
Do you use any styling products after co-washing?Saving all my pennies0 -

I co-wash, havent used shampoo since july. Yes it does take a bit of time to see the full effect. My hair looked a bit dry for the first week or so. Since then it is looking fab:DPinkphoenix wrote: »Thanks!

I use boots curl creme, and then a little garnier endurance gel. Both are silicone free. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Thanks gunsandbanjos!
I've heard lots of good things about this curl creme. I will go and investigate later! Hope it's in stock.
I'm going to try this, and co-washing it twice a week to see if the condition improves.Saving all my pennies0
