Hi Guys,
Wonder if you can help.
Just bought one of the above and have issues.
1. Connected it all up and tv shows not connected if using the hdmi lead?
2. When connecting with the tv scart and booting up the sagem - it shows installation failed - basically it's showing zero signal strength. When I connect my sky box back up it shows only around 40% signal, but works ok
Don't understand why it shows not connected when using the hdmi lead and why my old sky box shows at least some signal, but the sagem shows none.
All help appreciated.
Cheers

Firstly, worry about accessing menus and getting your HDMI connection working later, although remember that unlike with SCART that autoswitches your tv to the correct input when you switch on a device, HDMI requires you manually select on your TV the correct input, so you may want to try that.
As far as signal strength goes, if you were only getting 40% signal strength on your sky box, then I would realign your dish before anything else and still use your old sky box to test that signal strength.
It could be that the tuner inside the Sky box is more sensitive than in your Sagem box and even with poor alignment is able to pick up a weak signal.
Also check quality of coaxial cable lead, and if it is a very long run from your LNB then also consider purchasing a inline 20db satellite amplifier.0 -
Signal strength is not as important as signal quality.I have done jobs where the has been loads of signal strength but no quality & the box does not pick up any channels.
IIRC back to my Sky installs theory course, the strength is only the carrier signal from the satalite, the quality is the actual programme information.
(might be wrong a bit there..it's been a few years!)0
