Can I take a bike lock on board a European flight?

In December, I am taking a ryanair flight from Venice Treviso to Leeds. As it's quite heavy and chunky I don't want to pack it on my hold luggage, but I would rather stuff it into my coat pocket. Will I get this taken off me at security, as they could claim that it could be used to strangle someone?
It is quite similar to this one, except smaller:
