  • www.call18185.co.uk is 5p per minute through the week but only 2p per minute at the w/end whereas Discount Dial is still 5p per minute :)

18185 is now showing 6p per minute for calls to a mobile Monday to Friday.

Must've changed this morning - after the MSE UK Callchecker did it's nightly 'trawl' (that's still showing 5p).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

I thought we were talking about Call18185! My post 24 above was in response to post 23 which was in response to post 22!

Edinburghlass said calls to 18185 were 5ppm then posted back and said 6ppm. Heinz, I thought, was referring to 18185 mobile charges with his reply saying it had gone to 5ppm. As I thought Heinz was referring about 18185 I said it was showing as 6ppm.

    I'm confused ;)

Basically, Discountdial charge 5ppm daytime to mobiles whereas Call18185 charge 6ppm daytime to mobiles.

Sorry i thought you were aware that https://www.18185.co.uk and https://www.call18185.co.uk are the same outfit, and the domains lead to the same place.

I notice their are now 3 cheaper suppliers at 5p a minute using 0844 access numbers.See UK Call Checker.http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/ukcallchecker/

Also if you use a supplier with a low minimum call charge and second billing short peak calls will probaly be cheaper through your own supplier.

It looks to me like -

All that Heinz was pointing out was that 18185's rate probably changed this morning [spotted fast by Edinburghlass], as the MSE Callchecker, not 18185, still had it as 5 pence
  • I have let MSE Checkerman know about the increase on 18185 for calls to mobiles, weekdays, to 6p per minute so the MSE CallChecker will be adjusted as soon as possible :)

I did mean that (but, having re-read my post, I see I could have made that clearer).

Anyway, EL's prompt spot (no, not a fast-developing zit) prompted me to update my signature link.

18185 use to charge 10p a minute to call from cable or mobile at peak/evening rate. They have reduced it to 6p.
