BT Vision - Appalling Service

I signed up to BT broadband and Vision package a month ago and have had nothing but problems setting up the sports viewing card (the single reason I signed up to it!)

Anyway, I've spent hours on the phone to them and they are clueless about why I get the wrong card etc, even been lied to and now when I didn't get my card as promised today, they have offered to refund me 40p for a days loss!

Unfortunately I am out of my cancellation grace period and it would cost me £400+ pounds for early termination. I want shot of the whole service. I feel like I'm just a slave to them and they have me by the balls, how do people go about getting out of these contracts or at least getting proportionate recompense?
