Are you sure that you've downloaded the right ccleaner?

Get it from www.ccleaner.com and ignore the paypal boxes and simply download from either filehippo or piriform link. Ccleaner is free to download and to use.

yesthats what i downloaded its called registry 9.0 but certain parts of program you have to register before cleaning.

uninstall whatever that registry 9 thing is, reset internet explorer to defaults under tools, internet options, advanced, do a full! malwarebytes scan after updating, and fix anything found before closing. Replace avg with avast

install and run this, don't install yahoo toolbar during installation.

As closed suggested you've downloaded the advert on the left of the screen on the ccleaner download page. What you wanted was on the right under downloads. Easy mistake to make.

Use the link that closed suggested and then run the program and see what effect that has. Ditto suggestion to replace avg with avast.

Right I have uinstalled avg and reset all the internet settings. All toolbars except one have gone. Installed google chrome again and avast free edition and it looks better already but will have to see over next couple of days how it works. The windows defender icon has an exclamation mark on it. Defender icon was not there before. I have thunderbird for my email as my microsoft outlook was trial edition so have been running thunderbird for 9 months now. Its good.

    Great news.

With avast have you registered the free version via the link on the website? If not do it soon so that you can get the registration code sent to you via email for free. That way you'll get 14 months free updates, otherwise it wont work after 30 days or so.

Run Ccleaner now to clean the registry and junk files.
