My dad's looking at getting a HTC Desire (standard one, not HD or Z) and wants to buy SIM-free and go on a rolling contract. Does anyone know the cheapest place to get an unlocked, unbranded model at the moment and in light of the new releases is the price likely to go down in the near future?

gumtree is where i found mine - they seem to be going for considerably less than what they were on ebay - around £250 for brandnew albeit not from a shop, and possibly not unlocked.No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30
