Got boiler serviced, should I have a certificate?

Finally found somebody who would come and service my gas boiler today, on the Gas Safe register and Checkatrade, but I've got no paperwork from the visit. He said put my email address on the back of the cheque and he'll email me a receipt. Shouldn't I have some sort of safety certificate? Wish I'd pressed for one now.

Benchmark Log should be completed (assuming you have the document). He could also provide you with a Gas Safety Record but this is not always a legal requirement...more here.

We dont issue certificates (except if its for a Landlord) but I dont know why he couldnt have issued you a receipt at the time of the service, so hopefully he will email you one as he said.0

All my customers get issued a service sheet along with printed copies of the tightness test and flue gas analysis, if applicable. They also get a receipted computer generated invoice.
It's not mandatory, but I can't see why you shouldn't get one.0
