Can I relist for free?

Hi

Please can someone help me with this - i'll keep it brief.

I listed a top for auction but buyer did not pay for the item so I opened a dispute. eBay are going to give my FVF back but can I relist the item again for free?

Any help much appreciated. I'm not new to eBay but this is the first time a buyer hasn't paid. Thanks

  • Before you relist make sure you receive your FVF back first.

You will be entitled to a relist credit. However, make sure you relist in the proper way otherwise you will not qualify.

You have to pay first of all but if your item sells the second time round you will receive the insertion fee back.

Just be careful though as if it doesn't sell the second time you will lose both sets of listing fees.

Have you or Ebay left any negative feedback for the buyer?
In my dispute it says "Eligible" for FVF credit eligibility and it says "Granted".
Is that what your dispute status is? How do I proceed now? The info on the dispute page is very minimal hence any help would be much appreciated.
    thanks Dhan

No I don't think either of us can leave feedback but I think that they have been given a strike. My dispute status does say granted and there's a little green tick. I am going to relist my item on the weekend.

If the buyer is still registered then you are still eligible to leave feedback. If the buyer did not formally to the dispute then he cannot leave feedback (the remarks would show but not the rating) but if he *did* respond to the dispute then be aware that he can still leave you feedback.

When Ebay agrees to refund FVF back and the status does say granted with a green tick.............. does that suggest that Ebay has rule the dispute in your favour? Im confused as what to do next in a similar case as the buyer is still disputing the case and Im not sure whether Ebay is still expecting me to continue to respond to the dispute!!
Is there any way of contacting ebay by phone??
    thanks Dhan

If it shows a green tick then it means you must have closed the dispute as ebay have refunded your FVFs. That means you can relist the item from the original and get a refund for the second set of listings fees *if* the item sells the second time.

If however the tick is blue you still need to close the dispute.

If the buyer is still emailing you disputing the transaction *and* the dispute is formally closed, you can ignore them.

    Hi Soolin

I have not knowingly closed the dispute. All I did was to respond to the buyer once I was sent an alert by Ebay.Since then I have had the green tick but I never had any communication form Ebay to suggest that the dispute was closed.I have received another message from the seller re- the dispute but did not get any alert from Ebay suggesting that I have to respond. The seller has requested Ebay to intervene but I have not heard anything from Ebay.
Does that mean that Ebay has closed the dispute and I dont have to respond to the dispute anymore.
    Thanks again

I've never heard of a dispute closing on its own. Can I please just get you to confirm that you are looking in the dispute console area...daft question I know but just trying to narrow down what is going on. You can also check that your fees have been returned by looking in your account.

If the dispute has been closed then the ebay system has already finished with it, and they won't listen to your buyer any longer.

Yes I have definitely been looking at the dispute console area where it clearly has a green tick as far as FVF is concerned. There is no refund as I listed the car when then was a free listing week end.
If it helps to know the background I had a thread started on my particular problem...... here is the link
