    if the cylinder (clutch slave cylinder) was/is broken i very much doubt you would have been able to drive it
    it's the gear selector cables at fault either reconnected badly or broken either way not a massive job
    personally i think you need to find a new garage as this lot are a joke by the sound of things
  • ditto to the advice you may only need 1 cable but come inpairs, why not just them both while he's at it, get to a different mechanic that your friends recommend, you can also ask at a local motor factors who'd they recommend to go to as they would supply most in the area.
