SEARCH 180 ASSISTANT that keeps popping up.

We have just got our new computer a few days ago and ever since we down loaded something from avery we have nothing but pop up's and spam which has also slowed the pc down.
Its driving me nuts. I suppose we will have to wipe the hard drive but is there any other hope.........

ps we have also have tried deleting it from the registry but it just comes back.

    Hi

If you don' already have them, you should get:
    spybot search and destroy
    adaware and
    spywareblaster

    all from http://www.download.com/

Everyone has their fav out of the above and a lot of people have all three (myself included)

You may even want to try CWShredder from the same site.

Spybot also has a feature where you can modify how your system starts up incase 180 like to reinstal itself at startup.

  • :) Ella Hi,

You can download a 'google tool bar that stops nearly all pop up adds, or go to google do a search for 'block pop up adds' and select the MS web site. It tells you how to block all or just selected ones. Alternatively download 'Mozilla' as your browser, (its far quicker that IE) and you can block pop ups in their tool bar. Good Luck
  • Hi,
I wouldnt really bother with adaware as its not the best program out there,
you should download a program called Spysweeper
it will sort out your problem
