I read somewhere that guilt is a waste of an emotion. It doesn't change anything. What's done is done and feeling guilty is not going to change the past. Instead of thinking how you've messed up, make sure you try your hardest to learn from your past mistakes. Think of it as a fresh start. Don't let how you're feeling right now stop you from your new mission. Once you get on top of this you'll have much more confidence in yourself. x

Thanks jackieb, having a bad night, I just can't see it getting better, what is wrong with me tonight. Confidence I lack so much. X

The stuff you want to get rid of, are they recent purchases? What kind of emotional ties do you have with it?

It will get better. I'm sorry you're having a hard time tonight. xx

    Having a serious thinking overload!

How can one really declutter when they have some sort of emotional connection? Reason I ask, how can I eBay lots if I have emotinal ties for some reason? I don't need loads of stuff hey but how can one break the ties to it all? How do I be ruthless but sensible, I don't want to end up going out on a shopping spree again? How much can u determine what to list something for? I suppose anything is better than nothing! I told you I am overthinking!

Is it a good emotional tie that you have? I found that I was attached to immaterial things that reminded me of good times in the past, when in reality the times were only good because I was spending away with no regard for the bill that I was racking up.
I tried to look at the situation from an outside perspective, if I've not used it, don't look at it or don't really like it anymore it went. Even my Quiksilver hats went on eBay and I really did like them but knew I could get some decent money for them.

I've come over with this feeling all because I am sitting here thinking about mess ups in my life, and how things could have been different. I need to start being honest with myself, be honest with my feelings. I just feel so guilty about so many things, guilty with a strange feeling deep inside. Why do I let things get to me, if I did right in the beggining and not mess up then I wouldn't feel like this. I really do feel strange now, I was feeling positive but I started thinking about my life and now I feel down. I am sorry to vent this on here!

Gosh, there was obviously something in the air yesterday unsavy! I hope my depressing rant didn't drag you down with me.

Don't feel guilty about the past, you can't change it now. All you can do is learn from it and move on.

The eBay items that I am thinking of listing are a pair of red or dead shoes, a long evening dress from Dorothy Perkins and a quiksilver bag. I'm not desperate to sell them but I want to make some cash...grrr! Guess this just isn't the right time and my time will come.

What is the starting bid on them Posh? You might find that they are listed at too high a starting price which puts people off bidding. I find that a lower starting price attracts bids, and often means the final price goes above what others have tried to sell them for.

Although of course, you should always assume that the item is going to sell at the minimum bid and treat anything above as a bonus, so set your price at the minimum you would accept for the item.

I will sell anything that is not nailed down in my house :p, but if something has got a real emotional tie for me and I could not replace it, then it does not go. There are some things I own that I would never sell.

However, there is plenty that I have that don't really mean anything to me, I never use, I never look at, so what is the point in keeping it! You could always do it in phases. Sort stuff out and keep those bits you want to. In a few weeks/months, go back and see if you still really want them. If you do - keep them, if you don't - get rid.

The way I see it, by getting rid of the clutter I don't need, it gives me more space to properly display the bits I do love, and means I can appreciate them so much more!

Stating price is 99p for all of them! To be fair the shoes were a size 7 and mine are only a size 5 so they may get more interest...I think I'll keep them under the bed for a little longer.

You didn't get me at all, you proved to me that these diaries are to write how your feeling down, which is important on this road of change, all the wonderful people that are on here and help really means so much. We develop friendships with people who understand.

    How are you feeling today?
