My car was towed.. seeing the photo images I didn't park it that way!

Please tell me if anyone could explaine to me how my car could have been moved??
I looked at the images and laughed thinking even a drunk person would not have parked it like the way I saw it. I've been parking in the same road for over 10 years and how could they say I parked on the yellow line. Could the parking attendant had it moved on the wrong part of the street to take picture, when they realised that my car was on the same spot for about six weeks. Didn't need to use it for 1 month due to exam then 2 weeks holiday. A day before I came back from my holiday, thicket was issued. Two days after the thicket they towed it. I went to look for the car that evening... it was gone. I am so puzzled by this that I made a youtube clip out of it... please tell me how my car moved to block someone's street... the street I'm so familiar... no sign of theft... but the image of the car is ridiculous... worse than parking on a single line...
Has this happen to anyone... I called the police, Consumer direct and contacted BBC watchdog... now I need to challenge the penalty charge...:(

2:48 for the images of the car.

No idea how to help. You're certain you didn't park it like that? Try www.pepipoo.com

Was the car in gear and the handbrake on nice and tight? It could be that some idiots pushed it down the road, or the traffic officer pushed it down the road.

I would report the car as Taken With Out Consent to the Police. Hopefully they will take it seriously if you say you parked it in position a and it was later photographed in position b and as a result towed, and that you had never left it in position b.

I’m 100% sure I did not park it like that. If there is no space to park I move further away to find parking. I’ve not used my car for nearly 6 weeks too so they would have noticed it long time. I got a thicket a day before I came back from my holiday.

Always leave my car with the starring locked, hand break tight and gear on neutral. Your view is what I suspect but why. Thanks for your tip.

You need to appeal the ticket and towing to (hopefully) get a refund of all your money. Most Council tow fees and PCNs are able to be overturned on appeal for various reasons but you only have 28 days starting with the day you collected the car.

Post a new thread on pepipoo for help with your appeal and what to say:

In the meantime do as suggested and report the car as TWOC, as it clearly was moved without your consent. I take it this wasn't a Police tow?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Always park with the wheels locked towards the kerb, Never straight.

Proving it was moved by someone else, Or the pictures were taken as they were lifting the car
will be hard. Any CCTV in the area?

    Neighbourhood watch etc?

So how far away from where you actually parked was the car moved to?
Is there any evidence of the road-markings where you parked it having been newly re-painted?

I have appealed to the council and waiting for their reply. Today I went to report the car as Taken With Out Consent to the Police and they insisted it is not a crime and didn't want to hear about it.
@maninthestreet: the car was moved a car and a half length.
    @forgotmyname: no CCTV

So you were away for 2 weeks, so had no access to it? Presumably, the CEOs had ample opportunity to ticket and tow the vehicle in those two weeks, but left it there blocking someone's access? That's unlikely, isn't it?
