I presume they actually won an item, paid for it, and have received it???

If it just says ".....", then has ebay removed it already? I'd just respond to the neg with "if you have a problem with your item, please contact me so it can be sorted".

Yep, they took their time paying for it, but did so in the end. I dispatched it and they've taken their time leaving the feedback.

Ebay haven't removed it yet, no. I've just sent them a message to ask about that. Hopefully it will be sorted by tomorrow. I'll add that response in the meantime though.

    Thanks pinkshoes.

Yes they can, they just can't bid.

Yes, I've blocked 'non paying bidders' in the past who have sent me message when trying to bid on further items asking why they've been banned.

    Just had a response to my 'feedback removal request';

"I've removed the comment from the feedback you're appealing as it
fits one of our feedback removal criteria. This was removed for the
following reason as part of our Feedback Withdrawal and Removal policy:

    -- links or scripts

Furthermore, you might be wondering why we didn't remove the negative
rating as well. I'd like to explain why is this.

Your trading partner left you their rating as a measure of their
negative opinion of the transaction. Unfortunately, in the comment, they
chose to describe their dissatisfaction using a script that doesn't say
anything about the transaction. Your trading partner's negative rating
is not related to the script left therefore remains on the website."

I don't see what the point is to be honest, there was no negative comment in the first place, so effectively nothing has changed, i'm still left with the negative mark. They also mentioned in the reply that action would be taken against the buyer for breaking the feedback terms. But I'm guessing that will just be an email reminding them of the feedback policy. I guess i should be thankful, I didn't really expect anything to happen ... still peeved though. :(

Am I correct in thinking you previously had negative feedback of the form:

    - ....................

But now you have negative feedback of the form:

    - This comment has been removed by eBay. Learn more.

I'm guessing that is what it will be changed to, but at the moment it's still as it was, apparently it takes a while for it to change.

I think that's okay really. It makes other buyers seeing it, that the buyer that left negative was probably just a nutter! I wouldn't worry about it anymore. It's been removed for that thing I mentioned yesterday, where the comment doesn't mention the acutal deal, or something like that.

I have had this happen to me (in regards to eedback) and I requested that the seller changed it? They changed it and it was sorted? Again it was similar - the buyer left nehative FB out of spite.

  • If it's one bad mark in a sea of good ones it just looks like a grumpy buyer rather than anything bad against you, I wouldn't worry about it :)
