I've cancelled my contract with Orange and gone over to Virgin with a new phone. I'm going to give my husband the old phone which I've unlocked but when I put his sim card in it comes up, Network lock. His sim card is on o2. What have I done wrong.

Help appreciated

Did you complete the contract with Orange or stop it early?

How did you unlock the phone and what exactly does it say when you put the O2 sim card in it?

My contract with Orange has finished. I did the samsung unlock without the sim as #*7337#. I wasn't sure what to do after putting the unlock number in, but when I put the o2 sim in it came up with 'network lock'

it needs a shop/market stall unlock

or you can buy an "unlock Clip" on ebay for about £9

and don't PM me as biddy79Uk suggested, I cannot do anything
