Heaters -intensive use

We do not use all the rooms in the house and therefore use a electric fan heater for the room we are in -rather than central heating.
The electric fan heaters are v good at giving instant heat. However what type of heater would be better for intensive use - as i don;t think
electric fan heaters are designed for such
What is best for intensive use from halogen /convector/oil radiator- i reckon it would be convector?

I used an oil rad for years as my only heater in my old bedroom in the loft . I prefer the heat much more than a fan heater as the heat is a bit more constant , rather than a fan heater which is great when its blowing hot air but cold the moment it is off.0

Do you have a central heating system installed if you do then its cheaper to run the central heating system with all the other radiators turned off but the room you are using than use a fan heater.
All electric heaters are the same they will all burn the same ammount of heat meaning they are 100% efficient. The only difference is how they distribute the heat.If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -

They are heavy duty heaters for workshops/garages etc.
Using one of these in a lounge would not be ideal or look particulary pleasant.
The op was trying to find out what is the most efficient for intensive use meaning main heat source.
It is far cheaper to run the boiler on one radiator than use a fan heater. If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -

Trouble is that causes air locks - and i'm not convinced constant useage in such a manner is good for central heating reliability
Other prob is that for every person who says just use one radiator- another will say it makes no difference at all if all others are running.
Truly one of life's great mysteries:think:0 -

It doesnt cause air locks at all: Are you familiar with a what an air lock is?
"An air lock is gas trapped in a high point of a liquid-filled pipe system. The gas, being lighter than the liquid, rises to the highest point and restricts the flow of liquid. In very tall systems, the gas can prevent flow entirely."
As long as one radiator valve is open so water can loop back to the boiler you the boiler doesnt know that it is only running one radiator.
Issues start when all the radiators are turned off in the system which is why you would not fit TXV or TEV to all the radiators in the house bacause if all the TEV's shut down you then can cause damage because the water cant circulate.
One radiator at least is left without a TXV/TEV either hallway or bathroom, the room you want warmest.
The choice is yours what would you rather have normal wear and tear on your boiler or a high electricity bill from using a fan heater.
This is a much more efficient way to heat your home given that you already have the system installed than using any other type of electrical heater.
Gas is cheaper than electricity so it makes sense. If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0
