Exactly! You can follow the trends in the market and get an idea of what you can buy for your money, what is a bargain/overpriced etc.

Plus you never know when the right house will come along at the right price at the right time.

As I mentioned, my Oh is off to uni for 3 years so I'll be buying the place on my own first off. I'm looking to have a 25-30% deposit to keep the repayments to a manageable amount for somebody paying the bills on their own! It's a long way off yet, but ever since I had my lightbulb moment back in Oct 2008 and have since paid off 8k of debt, I know I can be very determined when I have my sights set on a specific goal.

    Best of luck

    Wow SKitz 8k is amazing!"

I've been looking for a while on right move & you can get a 3 bed semi in the denton area for around 80k just outside the M60 but not too far away from the centre. The house looks like it needs a bit of work but some people don;t mind that :rotfl: must be mental like me hahaha!"

Yep. Took working 2 jobs for a year and a half, a lot of 18 hour days and not much sleep or social life. But I feel like a massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders and would do it all again if I had to.

Back to just the one job now, but have learnt along the way lots of tips for frugal living, so I'm now using these to maximise my savings potential so I can afford my own place. I'm 27 now and still live with my Dad, my aim is to have moved out by the time I'm 30. I'm sure he'd like his house back just as much as I'd like some independance and some space of my own.

Denton is not a million miles away from where I live, in fact I have a couple of friends there. I do tend to check rightmove on a daily/every other day basis to see what's going on. Are you local to the area?

Don't think I could ever do the 18 hour days, really do admire you doing that!"

I live in the east manchester area, just inside the M60 and not in the most desirable area haha!" Dentons abit posher than where I live:rotfl:
