Good Luck with the driving lesson!"
A club sounds like a good idea as I'm not too good in saving & we could let each other know about house area bargains!" :D

Maybe even some tips on how we're all saving our pennies towards the deposits??

Looks like we have pretty similar plans! :D good luck with the savings, keep us updated

It depends really whether you want to stay in Manchester itself or not! We've been looking in West Yorkshire :j have seen a couple of places for that sort of price - complete fixer-uppers mind you :rotfl:Keeping the dream alive though!

I do love Manchester, currently live in the East, outside the M60. It's great as when you leave my house to one side there is the hustle and bustle of the city, if you turn the other way you're instantly onto country roads and probably the kind of stone cottages you're talking about.

My other half is starting a course in Sheffield in January, so would quite willingly move to Holmfirth/Sheffield kind of way. or maybe somewhere like Buxton if I was looking at Derbyshire way as I work in Macclesfield. Both Buxton and Macclesfield are nice areas for houses, but both also quite expensive. Especially compared to the places you have found from the sounds of it!!!
This is WAY more fun than monopoly.

Manchester is a great place to live, isn't it? We're currently in M21 - so more south really. Holmfirth is really gorgeous, I would absolutely love to live there :j I love going there to look through all the little shabby chic shops etc. That's the sort of area we're dreaming of really - have seen a few bits and pieces in and around that area. How many rooms are you after etc? We're looking at 2 beds really, most of the ones we've seen are in need of a little TLC! To be honest we'll probably end up somewhere different, but its lovely to have a dream! We could end up next door neighbours lol :rotfl:

Probably a 2 bed terrace/semi. I just like things that are a little different, and having always grown up on the outskirts of the countryside really like all my fields, dry stone walls, stone built houses etc rather than just the run of the mill red brick stuff.

I had seen a few cheap places in Huddersfield a while ago, although I am nowhere near ready to buy yet, I do like to keep a keen eye on the market so I know exactly what's going on. Huddersfield doesn't look too bad a place, but I don't know the area really, a couple of them did look pretty run down. Whereabouts West Yorkshire were you looking? How far West?

Holmfirth, Meltham etc - we couldn't really look much further east as we both work in Manchester at the mo. Like you we're quite far off actually buying a place - it's just inspiring to look! :j
