Hello All, Newbie here so aplogies if this is a re-post.
Bought a multi-fuel stove last year and wondering if anyone has advice on cheap sources of delivered logs- there seem to be loads of different companies on the web and its difficult to choose.
I hope someone with experience buying logs online can help
Cheers

It would be very helpful if you could give your approximate location to give people in your local area a chance to respond. In my area (north east) there are suppliers advertising on ebay. They charge from £30 for a dumpy bag collected. They will deliver locally free. I have a local supplier in my village who is a tree surgeon. You could ring round in yor area.
Good luckIf at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you! :dance:0 -
Thanks for the idea w50nky.
I'm in Birmingham if anyone has ideas for local suppliers.0 -
Local press ads can be good - best way to find those who really are in your area - or coal merchants/farm suppliers nearby may have a noticeboard or be able to tell you of local suppliers, freecycle may also offer up suggestions/contacts/offers.
Don't forget that wood comes in other forms than just logs - people throw the stuff away in surprising quantity. We have a wood-burning stove, my OH works in a school, and brings so much stuff home that is destined for the skip that I can't remember the last time we had wood delivered - it doesn't look so pretty as its stacked by the fire, but we heat the house and water for free through most of the winter. The tip, local skips and anyone doing up a house can be a good source!Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0
