i have just recieved my renewal for roadside and relay with the aa for £129.50 but on there website for a new customer its £69, in the last year no call outs ,after ringing the aa and questioning this i was told that i could get a discount but to be honest i just cancelled .why should existing customers get penalised if they forget to question their renewal ,i am sure the aa would have no hesitation in taking mine or your money, sixty pounds is a lot of money ,so if you get the renewal question it dont just pay it even if you have called them out.

I switch from AA to RAC and back again each year.
And pick up a new www.topcashback.co.uk commission along the way.0 -
My renewal this year was £270. Though to be fair that included their breakdown insurance. As I had replaced that car I dropped that part off, added on partner who had since past her test and paid the pricely sum of £99 for full cover for both of us.0

been with the AA 6 years every year the send me a ridiculas quote , so I get comparisons from other companys then phone the AA and tell them if they cant match it I will go to the competitors. As you can tell by the fact I,m still with them they price match every year. This year got roadside, relay and joint policy for £70. ( It does help if the cheaper quote you get is from the RAC the AA do not want to lose your custon to them)0

Insurance companies are the same, we used to use Diamond (the wife's choice as she always seems to be the policy holder!), without any claims etc, the premium seemed to double when renewal came, to the extent of about an exctra £100 a year! We left and went to the RAC!
Depending on who your policy is with, some insurers do breakdown cover. Obviously the RAC does, but others that aren't primarily recovery comapnies do too, it's worth a thought and often saves money!0 -
i think switching is the way to go thanks. i know i quoted the new membership price but a sixty quid difference is taking the mick.0

I went to the RAC as my AA renewal was stupid and they wouldn't cover my car as a new customer as it's too old, apparentlyMurphy's No More Pies Club #209

Just give them a ring - I bet they drop the price straight away. They tend to rely on people just paying willy nilly and not querying their new prices.:TProud to have lived within my means all my life :T0

My renewal was £169!!! Like the op said - i can get the same for £99 online - i've also just opened a bank account whereby you get the basic AA package as a part of the account - if i wanted to upgrade to the cover i have now (roadside, relay, homestart) they want £120!!!A home is not a home ..... without a dog0
