Cannon Copier Warranty

My company purchased a Cannon photo copier which has developed a intermittent fault.
Therefore I contacted my supplier who tells me that the copier comes with a 90 day parts only warranty and not a consumer warranty.
I do not have a service contract with them or Cannon.
As the purchase was made within the 90 days I would be covered for any faulty parts but not the labour, can this be correct ?
It would seem unless I took out a service contract I have to pay for any repairs required to the machine from day 1 ?

This is a business to business transaction and not covered by consumer law.

Having said that have you spoken to Canon? I have always found them very good at sorting out problems.
  • Might be worth looking into a service contract - it's the industry norm - and you will find it breaks down on a regular basis!!

Most people would look at what's known as a "toner inclusive" agreement - whereby you pay x per copy and that includes all toner and labour/parts should the machine breakdown.

I suspect you'll find it no more expensive than buying toner alone anyhow - and no doubt there are a number of canon dealers who would be delighted to quote for your business.

Let me know if you need any more info :)
