As the Royal Mail are about to scrap the limits on this stuff, nip it in the bud before you get it cascading through your letter box.
It is a free service and really works, though it may take a month or two to really kick in.
Whilst you're at it, register on http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/ to cut down on unwanted sales calls. Also free.

I'm a sad b*gg*er, but I don't mind Junk mail. If I'm not interested I rip it up.0

is sending all the junk mail worth it though, how many people read it and think oh thats good and then take out some insurance, does the cost of sending the junk mail out outweigh the money they get from ppl taking an interestNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

TBH mate, I look at the junk mail to see what its about but never take any notice of it.
Usually, when I see who its from, I think to myself, "right, not buying from them in future the spamming buggars!!"
Anything I buy now, I ALWAYS check online first, a) to get the cheapest price and b) to see if I can get cashback. I would never phone a number on some junk mail to get a quote so it wastes everyones time and their money (oh and the environment but who cares about that........)

If they send a pre-paid envelope, send it back and inform them that you are not interested. They pay the postage on their envelopes then!:DScire tuum nihil est, nisi te scire hoc sciat alter :cool:0

If it really bugs you and it is not addressed, why not put it back in the post box.
They might get the message if everyone did it.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Saw an article on this on morning TV - I always cross out my details on any junk mail sent to us and write on the envelope 'Return To Sender'. This applies to the dreared 'Present Occupier' and also our respective names.
If it's addressed to a previous occupant, I cross out the address and write 'Not known at this address'.
This seems to have halped a great deal - all we have to worry about now is the actual hand delivered local junk mail!MFW #185

I would not recomend to give your details to somebody to not receive mail.
Actually you are telling them that you LIVE HERE.
what they do is sell these information and the cycle never stops.
I do as EagerLearner does.
also I am always getting freebies so I get junk mail everyday too becuase of the address on their database. but i do not use my real name.0 -
Isn't a list of people to *NOT* mail or call likely to be open to abuse?0
