That looks really promising, Penelope. Let's hope that's it.

If it is, James gets to keep the money and we've all learnt something new!

Me too :) I've been a CAB adviser for years, and never heard of it :o

So we assume that JamesPeter was injured as a result of the war [1939-1945] and as such is entitled to a supplement for his reduced mobility due to the injury he sustained.

This has nothing to do with either Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance

If only the OP had listed given the "real" details of the benefits he received rather than calling everything "mobility benefit" we would have all been saved a great deal of time with our suppositions and suggestions and the effort of posting!

Typical that a report in the media gets the geunuine people in a real state giving half a truth!

From the dim and dark corners of my mind I have an idea the a person cannot get DLA and also WPMS. Whether that applies to AA and WPMS I dont know - the best people to ask are the War Pensions Agency.
  • Ah, Thank you,

Yes it is the War Pension Mobility Allowance/Supplement - I have just found it written on the letter regarding the disabled excise Disc. The welfare officer from the Veterans Agency applied for it for me.

Incidentally it isn't for service in WW2, as I am not that old, it was for injuries originally sustained in Northern Ireland in the 1970's.

    Thank you all so much.
    God Bless.
    James
