Dear Sir / Madam
With reference to PPI for the above account,
I believe I was mis-sold this policy, as when I applied for the loan I was told by the salesperson that I must take the front loaded PPI supplied by your company as a condition of the loan, and on the 27/08/10 I received a letter to notify me that the PPI was about to end.
I believed the policy was to cover for the term of the loan, at no point in the application process was I told that the PPI only covers for 5 years and that I would be paying this back over the loan term with interest.
So I am in effect paying for a product with interest for another 10 years that, I no longer have.
I do not believe I was given enough information on this product to make an informed decision, had the full implications and cost of this PPI been explained to me I would not have taken it.
Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date, and the loan still running to be reset without PPI.
I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.
Yours sincerely
Mr & Mrs Wonkydog.
Just a thought, if i was to put in,
"as i feel i was deprived of this money i also require 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made"
as a court would and used to do in the bank charges case, is that kinda pushing my luck, or am i just waffling again:D

This is good, put about the 8% where you are requesting the ppi back, you may get this but if the company pay you the ppi back without going to fos then you may not, but it is worth asking as you never know do you?. I think you have a good case with this as it was frontloaded, did you do the application on the phone? because if you did, they may have the recording, and if the sales person did not say that you had to have this ppi then you will in effect have lied. Just pointing this out so that you know what may happen. If you went into branch then it is your word against the sales person.Hi all, what do you think??

Thanks Amersall, although it was 5 years ago i do vaguely remeber talking about PPI with the salesman, and im pretty sure he said that it was a condition of the loan to take their PPI, if they have a recording of the conversation then would have to send it to me as per SAR request,
0oh i got a slight bit of doubt now:eek:0 -
Send your complaint in now as the sar will take up to 40 days and you are wasting time, if you are in doubt then omit that part in your letter, you can always refer to this at a later date.Front loaded is a win in its self. Thanks Amersall, although it was 5 years ago i do vaguely remeber talking about PPI with the salesman, and im pretty sure he said that it was a condition of the loan to take their PPI, if they have a recording of the conversation then would have to send it to me as per SAR request,

Will do Amersall, i am racking my brains now (not that there is a lot to rack :-) i will have a think and edit the letter if i need to, i do have this feeling that it was a condition of loan, trying to recall the conversation.
Thanks again for all the help0 -
Hello all, its been a long time since ive been here........
I just thought i would update my thread to what has happened over the last lots of months,
After various to-ing and fro-ing with G E Money, it turns out they did not provide the PPI and it was Loans.co.uk who were the culprits, anyway, i contacted them and after a few fob off letters and others asking for more time to investigate etc.
I recieved a letter this morning saying -
Dear Mr & Mrs Wonkydog
Firstly I would like to say how sorry we are you are dissatisfied with the service you have recieved, we pride ourselves on the high levels of service we provide to our clients.
Our decision - Having reviewed your file Loans.co.uk has come to the conclusion that " we WILL be upholding your complaint " :T
The compensation we offer will be the equivelent to a FULL refund of the initial PPI premium plus associated interest charged on that premium to the present day or the date the premium was settled.
:T :T :T :T :T
I have to fill out forms of authority to allow them to speak to G E Money to get all the amounts and interest details,
I now need to work out a figure so i can compare it to their final settlement when it comes through,
is their an inteterst calculator i can use to work it out, as maths is defo not my strong point -
Start up date - 03/06/2005
PPI ammount - $4750
Interest to present day @ 8.4%
I wouls like to say thanks to this site for everything and a special thanks to Amersal and Di for all their help too, greatly appriciated
Wonkydog xx :j0 -

"close of business" today :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
If the loan is still running, make sure that they take the ppi of the loan and reduce your monthly payment to reflect this.
