Terminating Orange Mob Phone Contracts
Options
My 18yr old daughter entered into a 24 month with Orange mobile in July this year. At the time she was a student in pt employment but that came has now come to an end and she is now just a student. Is there any way we can get out of the contract and if so what the likely cost will be?
We have just realised that when she entered into the contract she was informed in writing that she would receive 600 minutes but has in fact only been receiving 500 minutes.
Any help would be appreciated

Cost to terminate would be the number of months left times your monthly plan cost and then (usually) less the vat as you're not getting the service. They 'may' knock a bit off for paying it off on a oner...0

Months remaining multiplied by your monthly fee less VAT.
What you are basically asking is 'Can we get out of the contract because of a change of circumstances', and the answer is no.0 -
As has already been said you will have to buy out the remaining part of the contract, however do you have anything in writing that can prove your daughter signed up for one contract and has since received less than was agreed?
If so then you will be able to get out of the contract without penalty.0 -

Unlikely - they will just adjust the monthly fee, or apply a credit to the bill.0 -

No chance, they will just make it right by way of adjustment, she can only be on her 3rd/4th billing cycle0 -
If you can prove that your daughter signed up for a specific contract and that contract has not been honoured by the provider then you should be able to walk away without penalty.
You need to read the T&C very carefully.0 -

Not after three months they won't. They will adjust accordingly.0 -
My O2 contract was suppose to end on August 26th 2010 so... during the month of August i visited the 02 shop to see if they had a decent upgrade which they didnt so i eneded up getting a new £35pm phone from vodaphone. Come September i realised i was still being charged £45pm from 02! I thought to myself well that must be the last payment then i have just been charged another £45 this month!!!
I contacted 02 today and the said it was my responsibility to cancel my contract even though i was told only 2mnths ago from an 02 worker that it would END on 26th August! They have said ther is nothing they can do abt it and i have to give them 30days notice to cancel my contract which means i will be charged another £45 for my contract that "ended" 3mnths ago!! Ihave'nt even use the phone in this time as i no longer have it!
Is ther anyway i can get my money back? please help!0 -

Your contract doesn't 'end' unless you request it to. All that happened is you completed your minimum term (12, 18, 24 months etc). After the minimum term the contract continues until you cancel it.0
