That would be great as I'd prefer that one, but doubtful -- it's typically the most expensive gift set in a range which gets put on OOTW. And as others have said, it's often the set that gets its own page in the Christmas catalog. Why do you think it will be the £35 set?

Just a feeling. I doubt they would sell the £60 gift set for less than half price did they do that last year?

You could get one free S&G item up to £20 of points, or use the points to buy smaller items.
You don't have to use all your points at once if you don't want to.
You could just use them to buy every day toiletries as well if you don't want them to build up :)

Actually wasn't the hat box £20 down from £50? So I guess they might go lower than half price yeah. I agree that it does usually seem to be the most expensive of the range which goes on OOTW.
Another question ref spending points (sorry can you tell I've not been doing this very long?!), if I had £45 point and spent £40 I'd still have the 500 points left wouldn't I? They don't zero your balance when you use them do they?
ETA, Thanks meadows, you answered before I'd even asked, posts must have crossed!

Yep, the hat box was 50 and they sold it for 20, no reason they wouldn't sell this year's tote for somewhere between 25-30.

Keep in mind that Boots grossly overprices anything it frequently puts on sale 3 for 2 -- no way are they letting you have a third item "free." I'm sure they figure out how much they want to make in profit on the item, then mark it up at least 33% higher than that so when its on offer they still make the minimum profit they wanted (and if someone decides to buy just one item instead of three or not wait for the 342 sale -- well, all the more profit!). They couldn't offer constant 3 for 2 sales and stay in business otherwise. When it comes to the Offer of the Week, they probably cut the profit very close to the bone on some of these (or even take a small loss once in awhile) in order to get people into the store to buy loads of other over-priced items. Seems to work like a charm, too, lol.

You are so right there they do this 3 for 2 to hook you in and you will buy many products like this. We never have to forget that there is a huge mark up on items they sell and many of the gift sets contain a lot of products you may not like or use (ah but they can always be given as a Christmas or birthday gift, ;)) or the contain sample or travel sized items.
We also get pulled in by the pretty packaging (so own up just how many toiletries bags do we all own that never really get used? :))

  • Hi,

Just a quick question regarding the extra points events, I wanted to order online, would they have this offer of points online also?.

  • They normally have one of the big No 7 sets as OOTW at some point - so presumably they will again- hope so, anyway
