Can I demand a statement with the dates of my choice?

I do on line banking with Barclays, and have a statement every six months. I had one a week ago from April to September.
I now find I need a statement from July to September, the reason I need one with this date is, That's the dates they asked for and the month of April as one transaction that is a bit delicate for my needs.
I went in to my local branch this morning, and was told I can't have one with the dates I want
Only a copy of the one they just sent at a cost to me which I was willing to pay. (For the dates I wanted.)
Before I left the counter I asked for a statement every month, which she agreed to.
Anyone know if I can demand a statement with the dates of my choice?
Thanks.

I use RBS and online banking and I can view statements online with a choice of dates, last week, last 2 weeks, last month etc and I assume I could print off from there?0

Yes I can do that. Thing is it as to be an offical document.
Thanks.0 -
ah, of course didn't think about that0

Different banks' policies will vary, but when I worked for a High Street Bank the only statements we could order for customers were reprints of statements they'd actually received, for example, if statements were produced on the 15th of every month, we would not have been able to print out a statement that ran from the 10th of one month to the 10th of another. We would have had to have ordered two statements covering the dates required. It would, however, have been possible to print out a list of transactions between any two dates required onto Headed paper, but this of course would not be an official statement. Thankfully the bank I worked for didn't charge for statements
I don't think you could "demand" a single statement to cover the period, but under the Data Protection Act for a fee of £10 you can demand a copy of ALL statements for the past six years, so for example if Barclays wanted to charge you £10 per statement, and you needed two of them, tell them that you want to make a "Data Subject Access Request" instead
Sorry if this isn't much help, but good luck with whatever you need the statements for!

Ah sorry just re-read and realised what you said about April. Can't you get a copy of the Apr-Sep statement, and just hand in the pages with Jul-Sep on to whoever needs them? I.E. just not hand in the first page/few pages?

Yes Rich I think I will do that, after all they did only ask for two months.....Let's hope it works.
Thanks0 -
If they then ask for the whole statement so they can see the document header with your name and address on, just get a copy and black out the transaction section from april to june so they can't see the actual transactions for that period.0
