    I'd guess from the OP's username that she lives in Nottingham(shire) and is called Sarah. Is Notts an expensive place?

    I wouldn't think so. The LHA shared accommodation rate for the city of Nottingham is £65 per week.

    When I worked in a hotel I had live-in accommodation which was free. We ate in the hotel kitchen (what the paying guests had most nights!) but only got pocket money wages.

    Maybe the OP should look for a similar arrangement, in another hotel even if her present one doesn't offer such facilities.
