Declined for a credit card...again

Options
I turned 18 at the beginning of this year and I tried applying for a credit card with Capital One and got refused. I waited 7 months and this week tried applying for a Vanquis card and got refused again.

I have checked my credit file at creditexpert and it shows a bank account that I don't use (with HSBC) with a balance of £0 but doesn't show my barclays account which gets used daily. Could this be the reason why I keep getting rejected?

And, most importantly, are you on the electoral register?
My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.

I am on the electoral role, my income is about £11k and have another £3.5k annual income.
  • Apply for a Barclaycard?? The initial one or w/e it's called is very easy to get, and they already know you as a customer/person. Doesn't differ much from the Cap/Vanquis and you can do their little 'pre-test' first to check likely hood of being accepted

Oh no it doesn't differ from the vanquis one bit just 20-30% less apr..
  • I don't think I'd get a Barclaycard especially as I've never had credit before. I've just tried applying for a Capital One card again and it took me through to sign a credit agreement which it didn't do last time. Is this a new think for all applicants or does it sound like I've been accepted?
