Hope Beauty and the Beast is brilliant, daisy!!
Have a lovely weekend all :)
  • There, my guilty secret is out in the open! Any one else a fan?
We haven't got much space here in our little cottage, so at the end of summer I pack away all my vest tops, shorts and little dresses into vac-bags and stash them under the bed. Out come the 'winter' vac-bags and I switch over my wardrobe. It's always a bit sad doing the summer/winter changeover....! This spring, I was ruthless about the clothes I packed away for winter. So many things didn't fit anymore or they were a 'bargain that wasn't a bargain at all'! I sold some newish bits on eBay, gave some things away and the rest went to charity shops.

A few weeks ago I did the 'changeover' and was a bit shocked at how few items of clothing I actually had! Not having much cash to spare (and having picked up a few useful pieces in charity shops) I ventured onto the high street, nervously clutching my small budget. Well, Peacocks did me proud. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the clothes I bought and also, delighted that their sizing isn't aimed at super-skinny waifs!

And, they have what looks like a really easy to use website and I'd feel confident buying their clothes online as their sizing is so consistent.

Husband (who hates buying clothes) is a convert, too. He likes the fact they have teeshirts & sweatshirts in the sort of (dull!) colours he likes but without the stupid, cheap looking logos, slogans & embellishments so many other shops seem to ladle on regardless.

Just wanted to mention this rather humble retailer and encourage anyone else who hasn't ventured in yet to go and examine their very lovely party range designed by Pearl Lowe - really lovely!

Sometimes they have nice items, which is a real bonus given how cheaply they sell it. Worth checking out once or twice a year.

Re peacockcs, I do sometimes find some nice accessories and shoes etc there, and have a few nice knitted bits from there too..their sales are good for pjs and scarves, gloves etc in bright colours..

But personally I was rly disappointed in all the pearl lowe stuff so far, they look so nice as an idea, but so cheap and tatty in real life :( the party range looks to be the same :( which is a shame as some of the dresses looked
lovely on the promo pics for the collection.

Morning! Beauty and the Beast was amazing last night. SO good.
In the end I wore my Anna Sui dress, black diamond patter tights, wedge ankle boots and vintage velvet blazer.

    This morning I am wearing

Grey/Black/White bold printed dress from H&M eons ago
    Thick black tights from Boots
and my wedge heel boots again.
I will also attempt to find a cardigan soon, probably grey fine knit jersey from New Look

    :)
  • Glad you enjoyed the show Daisy.

I haven't been in to a branch of Peacocks for donkeys, I think I should probably continue to avoid for the sake of my bank balance.

Football (yay!) today, meeting a dear friend who is coming down from Yorkshire who has just got the all clear from cancer, made up isn't the word :)

Green Gap combats that need an iron, green Laura Ashley short sleeve cotton top with poppers black Primark cardie Hush Puppy toe post sandals. Bit of a state today but feel fed up and don't think I'll be leaving the house. Often go out to eat on a Saturday night but don't really feel up to it and didn't have my usual walk either!
